Cindy's Rants and Raves

Well, it's been a busy summer. Still working on Fluff socks, but am trying to get them done for my friend Deb, they are soooo her! The suede booties have become a mini business, I guess, as I have way too many orders for them, and that is all I've been working on. BUT- I got an awesome deal on a 10 pack of the suede yarn, best offer deal, and saved about $35!!!!! Yahoo! My hubby will be thrilled. LOL We've been camping last weekend, discovered a beautiful park, Mojave Narrows, only 10 min. away, and really enjoyed it. Had my company picnic there last weekend, and won a portable hammock, it's awesome, and I put it to use right away. My Aunt, and cousins came up the weekend before, and it was sooo nice to spend time with them, wish they would move up here. Nikki started school, 8th grade, and is in a brand-new school, it's nice. Was in Bishop about a month ago, got to see some friends, and spend time with family, it was great. My friend Deb came riding up to camp on her motorcycle, she will never stop surprising me! I really enjoyed seeing her, as I miss her dearly, and want to be back in Bishop..... someday. Anyway, pics are included of trips and stuff, got some new yarn porn, will take pics later of that. As you can see, Randy and Terry have enjoyed the pool this year, and Randy and his Dad are two peas in a pod. Nikki is fishing with her friend Trent, they are adorable together, and I really like the kid, as long as he keeps his hands and lips to himself! (She isn't allowed to date, and they are 'only just friends', how I remember that comment about Randy!). Hope everyone is enjoying their summer too, as it seems to be coming to an end here quickly. Love, Cin

Well, I've been working on some socks, on the circular needles, and really enjoy that. Today would have been my friend Fluff's birthday, and I've decided that she would have liked these, they are striped and bright, and so these are gonna be my Fluff socks. It's really the first thing that I have knit for myself, and am quite happy to get them done. Will post pics later. Nothing much new here, Nikki's closing ceremonies for softball are tomorrow, with the party after, that should be fun. I am putting together some gifts for all the girls, what was I thinking when i started this, probably NOT, that is the problem. Anyway, I will get them done on time. Randy and I are going to see Toby Keith again in Sept., with my sis and her husband. We saw him last year, and really enjoyed it, so we are going back. Woohoo! Planning a fishing trip to Bishop sometime in July, if I can get the time off work. Am working on a tangerine colored tank top, I got to the part where i have to start dividing for armholes and neckline, and stopped. Will pick it up again, when I finish the socks.... hopefully. LOL. That's about it, oh, my cousin Greg and his wife Andrea had a beautiful baby boy Nicholas 'Nikko' Joshua, on Memorial Day! Congrats to them!

Ok, here I am at the finishing line, sitting at the baby shower, finishing the second bootie. But I got it done, as you see, my new cousin Andrea, the proud Mama is holding them. She's from Ecuador, and seems shy, but very sweet. They really seemed to like them. And here is a better, closeup of the bootie.

Isn't this just the cutest thing? LOL It's a baby Ugg, knitted of course. I am so excited, as I think this is perfect for Greg, well his baby. It's a size 6-9 mo. (I misread the instructions, and thought I was knitting the 3-6mo. size), but that's ok, they will fit him next winter. I am soooooo thrilled with this!

I finished the baby blanket for my Cousin Greg and his wife, and was very happy with it. The pattern self edges, and is so easy. Found it at Michael's Craft store web site. Used Scoobie Baby Yarn, and it's so soft. Woohoo, it's so much fun to finish a project...... wait til you see what else I made.........

We went to El Mirage last weekend, for a very relaxing time watching the Bonneville cars time trials. It is always a fun time, but hard to catch a pic of vehicles going 100-260 mph!! Nikki rode her quad, but Randy and I didn't, we always take them out there and never end up riding. El Mirage is a flat, dry lake. It really does look like water when you are approaching it!

Hello, I have been working on a baby gift set for my cousin Greg and his wife, they are due in June, here's a pic of it in progress. Also I hit a sale at FanciWerks, got some yarn porn, as my cousin Mitch would call it, and some awesome knitting magazines. My daughter Valerie has moved back out, she decided she didn't need our help, and the house has been nice and quiet since. No more bickering between sisters. Arrrggghhh! My husband got a new truck, will post a pic of that too, and he got me a beautiful Endless Diamond ring for our anniversary! What a sweetie. Nikki is busy with softball, my MIL was ill and in the hospital I work in, and I was her Case Manager, fun. And my Uncle is sick and not seeming to be getting better. Life is getting harder as we grow older. Anyway, here are all the pics. Cindy

Well, it's been a very sucky day today! My husband got in a bad car accident, he is ok, very sore, but the truck is probably totalled. The guy he hit had to be extricated from his suburdan and taken to the hospital, no visible blood, hopefully he will be ok. Thank God for my Dad, who came and got all the tools and tires that were in the truck (it was loaded with work stuff). Don't know what we will do now, get a new truck probably, but wasn't planning on doing that for a few months. I am just grateful that Randy is ok. Everything else we will figure out and handle. Luckily his boss is good to him, and we had a loaner truck within an hour. But i am not looking forward to the insurance crap and all that. The good news today, is that I finally got an appt. with a doctor here locally for my back, so maybe I can get back to work sometime in the near future. My son, his girlfriend, and rugrats are coming to visit tonight too, so we have a full house. anyway, guess today is my Rant day. ;-)

I've added pics of my felted purse, they are reversed, after and before, but it gives you an idea. I loved felting, and plan to make lots more.

Hi I am Cindy, new to blogging, and new to knitting, but it is a growing addiction! I have knit many scarves, and felted a purse the other day. I will be posting pics as soon as I can. I am married and have four children, 3 adults and one teen. We enjoy camping in our fifth wheel and riding quads. We have four dogs, (big ones that think they are human), a cat and four fish. Life is definitely busy around here. Please feel free to post comments, patterns for knits, etc. I am currently looking for a knit cap with a visor, my daughter wants one and they seem to be the popular item among the stars. Take care.
